New Dessert Pot For Babes From Heinz
Market leader Heinz is launching a new dessert pot range for babies aged 4 to 36 months, to provide mums with a nourishing, enjoyable and convenient dessert option in order to drive category consumption.

Heinz has carefully prepared these tasty fruit pots to keep in all the natural flavours, allowing mums to give their babies a nutritious dessert, which contains the goodness of fruit and has at least ‘one of their five a day’. In fact, three of the six flavours contain ‘two of your five a day.’

All of the new Heinz Dessert Pots are bursting with Vitamin C and the two yogurt varieties are a source of calcium for growing bones, both of which form a crucial part of a baby’s diet. In addition, the pots feature a reclosable lid – a specific preference highlighted by mums.

Heinz researched over 60 recipes to launch the best dessert flavours and the new range features recipes that aren’t just fruit purées. In addition, the convenient pot format means that mums can easily carry them when they are out with their little ones.

With an RRP of £1.75 for a four pack of 100g pots, Heinz Dessert Pots are available in the following flavours:

• Heinz Fruity Custard Banana
• Heinz Fruity Custard Fruit Medley
• Heinz Fruity Custard Pear and Apple
• Heinz Fruity Yogurt Banana
• Heinz Fruity Yogurt Pear
• Heinz Fruity Pudding with Apple and Oats

Katie Bleach, Heinz Infant Feeding Marketing Manager, comments: “Our consumer insight has shown that mums want an exciting new dessert option that their babies can enjoy. Currently, there is a limited choice of desserts available, and most of those in the market are only made of fruit, so we decided to offer mums custard and yogurt flavours that are both nutritious and affordable.

“We decided to launch the Heinz Dessert Pots range, which aren’t purely fruit, as part of our continued commitment to supporting mums and their babies and catering for their needs. The reclosable lid was a key finding that we have incorporated in to our range, to offer mums the convenience factor. We hope that the range will provide mums with a wider variety of nutritious desserts as well as drive sales for our retail partners.”

Heinz is the number one brand in the total Infant Feeding category with a 25.6% value share. Within the infant feeding category wet food is worth £137million[ and one of the key sectors is the dessert category. The pots format are worth 47% of this.

Good Tasty Food For Kids That Whole Families Will Enjoy
Mrs Tinks' childrens meals for all the family is amking it onto the shelves of shops, as Budgnes in Parsons Green, South West London, gives shoppers the chance to sample these tasty meals developed by locl mum.

Giving their children healthy delicious food is a priority for parents, but today's busy lifestyles mean that cooking from scratch every night is not always possible.

With the launch of new Mrs Tinks mels, parents can now find a range of delicious meals that the whole family would like to eat - from the youngest toddler to grown-up family members. The range is free from added sugar and salt, and is full of tasty vegetables to make it a complete and easy meal.

Julia Boddy lives in South London with her photographer husband and three children. She founded Mrs Tinks last year, inspired by how much other people's children loved her cooking and with a passion to create honest food for busy families.

“I knew my food tasted great and was healthy and fresh so I came up with Mrs
Tinks - every parent's best friend in the kitchen,” she says.

Julia has taken care to use the ingredients parents would use themselves at home,
relieving them of the stress of making every meal.

“I love cooking and its great to see children enjoy my food but I understand it's
also nice to have a break and see them enjoy someone else's!”

Mrs Tinks began by selling directly to parents at her children's school. With wonderful feedback from both the local parents and their children, plus the support and encouragement of friends and family, Julia was able to expand the business by selling through local Delis and a home delivery service covering South East London.

The meals are also on the menu at the Horniman Museum and a local kids café where you can sometimes find Mrs Tinks running children's cookery classes. From
4 November Mrs Tinks' range of delicious, nutritious kids ready meals will be
available in Budgens, Parsons Green.

The Home Delivery service has also been expanded to cover South West London.

As a working mum, Julia was aware of the pressure on busy parents to cook fresh meals for their families on a daily basis. She found that babies and toddlers were wellcatered for in the supermarkets, but growing children were less easy to shop for and satisfy at meal times. The Mrs Tinks range meets this gap in the market and offers a guilt free alternative to home cooking, not just for babies and toddlers but for children of any age.

The business is growing organically and the direct feedback from parents ensures that busy families who don't want to compromise on home cooking can now buy a ready meal brand that they can trust and that kids will love to eat. Over the past year the recipes have been tried and tested by hundreds of children and parents. They have found that the 300g portion offers more flexibility to feed one older child or two little ones.

Mrs Tinks' range:
* Fish Pie: Bursting with tasty salmon and cod this dish is complimented by the
creamy cheese sauce. Comfort food for all the family!
* Spinach and Butternut Squash Lasagne: Try our yummy veggie lasagne made
with roasted butternut squash and chopped spinach. Kids love the sweetness of
the Squash and the tasty Ricotta adds a twist to the classic cheese sauce.
* Beef Lasagne: The rich Ragu is made with British beef, covered with layers of
fresh lasagne sheets and cheese sauce. Roasted and mashed Sweet Potato
added to the Ragu gives it a sweetness that children love.
* Chicken Curry: Described by my children as 'tasty spicy' not 'hot spicy' this is a curry that's perfect for children of all ages. Tasty chicken breast fillet complimented by Butternut Squash, Coconut Milk and the perfect mix of fresh ginger and spices. It's also good to know this one is gluten free.

No Added Salt Meals Set To Hit Shelves Early 2012
Three business-savvy women from Essex are on a mission to shake up the Capital with their new range of healthy ready meals with no added salt, starting with over a hundred food bloggers at London’s Tech N Taste event.

Kay Shearing, Donna Tresadern and Nikki Da Costa Smith are the founders of No Added Salt, a new range of nutritious and healthy ready-made meals specifically designed with children in mind.

The meals have been designed to maximise nutrition with no added salt, flavours or preservatives so parents that, for whatever reason, are unable to cook the meals themselves, can be confident that the meals they are feeding their children are very tasty, additive free and just as good, if not better than home-made.

The company’s launch range includes Chicken Nuggets, Beef Burgers, Mini Fish Fillets, Cottage Pie, Chicken Casserole, Sausage & Mash, Spaghetti Bolognese and Tomato Penne.

Kay Shearing, came up with the idea for No Added Salt after her grand-daughters were born prematurely and underweight. She wanted to ensure they received as much nutrition as possible despite their tiny stomachs and so went about developing recipes packed full of goodness, but in portions small enough for them to digest.

Kay Shearing explains, “Each dish is packed full of hidden vegetables and herbs, which has allowed us to achieve the best nutritional levels on the market. Examples of this include parsley concentrate, cauliflower in the mash, and even apples and parsnips in the sausages. Feedback on our initial range has been so positive we are now working on a further 24 dishes.”

Shearing, Tresadern and Da Costa Smith presented a selection of these meals at Tech N Taste on Thursday 15th September; an event organised by TalkTalk and held at the TalkTalk Customer Experience Centre in London, combining a love of food with practical advice and workshops on how to make the best of their blog.

“Feedback was amazing, we even had representatives from several high street food retailers asking to sample the dishes, so we are really excited to what will happen as a result,” says Shearing.

Earlier this month and following offers from several interested parties, the trio selected a partner and secured the investment funding needed to ramp up production. The No Added Salt range should start hitting the shelves in early 2012.

“We are now full steam ahead with finalising production and packaging and are now investing our time in spreading the word about what we can offer,” adds Shearing.
