NDC Infrared Engineering has enjoyed a long association with the Foods Industry and has pioneered its key measurements in partnership with customers.

With an installed base of many thousands of food gauges across a wide variety of applications worldwide, we have the experience to help meet your specific requirements.

Natural Food Products frequently exhibit variation in:

This prevents conventional or generic NIR moisture meters from being used in measurement for control. NDC has developed highly robust, application-specific measurements for our MM710e On-Line Gauge and InfraLab e-Series At-Line Analyzer which are unaffected by these issues and our gauges are relied upon for the control of many foods processing lines. While moisture measurement is still the major need, we are able to handle many other constituent measurements such as Fat, Oil and Protein.

 

The MM710e

The MM710e is NDC Infrared Engineering's 8th generation on-line analyzer for the Foods Industry. It has been developed to give highly accurate real-time measurements of:

* Moisture* Fat or Oil
* Protein

in a variety of foods applications.

The MM710e makes a complete measurement every 7.5 milliseconds which means that on a moving conveyor transporting food products, optimum measurement resolution is achieved, enabling the user to use the MM710e measurement output in closed loop process control.

What's more, the MM710e has been engineered to measure even when there are changes to the process or ambient conditions such as:

* Ambient lighting
* Relative humidity
* Product temperature
* Product height fluctuation

Each MM710e features "SpeedCal"(tm), a factory-configured calibration for the specific measurements you require, to ensure no-compromise performance from the day it is installed. And to help adjust the MM710e to agree with your laboratory or primary reference method, GaugeToolsXLTM software is provided with each gauge.

NDC's aim is to provide the best measurement solutions with the lowest cost of ownerhip. MM710e's patented optics are a guarantee of long-term drift-free stability which means that your maintenance staff are not required - ever - to recalibrate the gauge.

The MM710e is a fully Ethernet Enabled System benefiting from a range of peripeheral devices providing critical process information to supervisors and operators alike. Automatic Device Discovery makes creation, alteration and extension of networked gauging systems fast and convenient

Connectivity to the process is available in all common formats, both analogue and digital. Available Fieldbus protocols including:

* Ethernet IP
* Modbus TCP
* Profinet
* Devicenet
* Prodibus
* Canbus

For products transported in ducting or pneumatic transport systems, the MM710e can be used in conjunction with a PowderVision(tm) sampling system.

InfraLab e-Series At-Line Food Analyzer for the Measurement of Moisture, Fat and Protein

The InfraLab e-Series At-Line Foods Analyzer from NDC provides rapid accurate measurement of moisture, fat and protein in single or multiple component configurations in a variety of Food Products.

Easy-to-use, the InfraLab requires no special operator skills, and takes just 5 seconds to make the analysis.

Using multi-wavelength NIR reflection, the InfraLab does not require contact with the product sample. The sample dish is placed on the turntable; the InfraLab automatically recognizes that it has been placed there and begins the analysis.

The InfraLab has its own substantial onboard data storage capacity (up to 10,000 sample files), but data can also be downloaded periodically to a USB memory stick or directly to a PC for analysis in a spreadsheet or other software, Alternatively, it connects via Ethernet to a PC where the data is stored and displayed and can also be integrated into a LIMS network.
